Guidelines for Small Producers Regarding Minimum Hygiene and Food Safety Conditions in Romania

These guidelines aim to support small producers in Romania, clarifying the minimum hygiene and food safety conditions they have to meet after EU entry and the aid they can benefit from.These guidelines are focused on the following aspects:
  • Defining and explaining the main terms mentioned in the current legislation, as well as making the small producer aware of its responsibility for the health of its consumers. 
  • Explaining the steps needed for continuing to produce and sell the products obtained in the producers’ own households. 
  • Clearly presenting the current veterinary, hygienic and health standards.  
  • Information concerning the registering of traditional products (benefits and steps).
  • Answering the most important questions. 
  • Listing the main financing sources for small producers.
  • Listing the authorities that can be contacted for further information.
  • Providing examples of official documents that need to be filled in by the small producers.
