This third innovation brief discusses geospatial assessments of food consumption at city region levels as a means for monitoring food systems. We first briefly introduce the Metropolitan Foodscape Planner assessment methodology for assessing the food consumption land footprint in city-region food systems. Next, we describe three applications of MFP in the context of three case city regions of the FoodSHIFT2030 project, namely Berlin (Germany), Copenhagen (Denmark) and Ostend (Belgium).
